Wonderful Retreat Center Facilities in the Capital Region

Here at the Camp Schodack / Berkshire Retreat Center we have been helping to create amazing summers since 1957. In that time we have learned a thing or two about what it takes to create great memories and experiences. Many of the groups that come us to choose us because of the flexibility of our offer, allowing you to create your own DIY package and take advantage of our wonderful facility that consists of 100 acres of privately owned land. Guests can choose to spend an action packed weekend making full use of all of our regular summer camp activities or instead, kick back and relax by the pool between meetings and team building sessions.

Amazing Facilities & Accommodation 

Across our 40 acres of lawns and playing fields we have a huge range of traditional summer camp activities available for guests to make use of including soccer, basketball street hockey, archery, volleyball and tennis. In addition to that we have a purpose built go-cart track, 2 heated swimming pools, climbing tower and high ropes adventure course. We have a number of indoor and outdoor spaces suitable for meetings, performances and other activities. We have beautifully renovated cabins, all with en-suite facilities that can house groups of various sizes from couples and individuals up to groups of 10 or 20 up to 40 if required. Our dining hall facilities are suitable for catering for up to 500 people at any one time.

Long History of Excellence

The land that Camp Schodack sits on has been under the same continuous family ownership for 4 generations. When the Camp opened in 1957 it set out to take advantage of the long, hot New York summers that begin in early May and run through until Later September. Even in the cooler evenings through the fall beauty of New York State shines through and nothing beats sitting round a camp fire under the canopy of stars that shine here like few other places. Our leadership team all have years of experience in creating, planning and executing high quality events both here in the US and overseas.

Dedicated Staff

By choosing to hold you retreat with us, no matter the occasion, means that you will have a full time dedicated staff member on hand with you throughout your stay to endure that you and your group have everything you need. Our Events Coordinator and maintenance team have all been at Schodack for many years and not inly knows the grounds and facilities but also the local area, on the rare occasion that you may want to venture beyond our borders. We in an excellent location, set just outside of Albany in theCapital Region gives us close access to Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire as well as being just 2.5 hours from Manhattan and Boston.
