Our Exceptional Residential Retreat Center 

Here at Camp Schodack / Berkshire Retreat Center we have been creating amazing summers for over 60 years. In that time we think we have learned what is important when helping people create meaningful memories. Our beautiful, well-maintained property covers 100 acres of privately owned land that has been under the same continuous family ownership for 4 generations. Out property is open to a number of groups including schools, sports teams, families, young adults and more. Over the years we have been running we have hosted sports camps, weddings, family and school reunions, company retreats and are always excited to welcome new groups to our site. Our full time Events Coordinator will be based on site with you throughout your stay and will be there to help you from your first enquiry to when you leave at the end.

Beautiful, Rustic Cabins

Spread across the property is our collection of wonderfully renovated cabins that can house up to 500 people at any one time. Split between our main cabins that sleep 10 - 20 people, is the bulk of our accommodation. Each of these cabins are complete with high ceilings and cooling fans to help escape the hot New York summers and they are also well designed to stay warm  in the evenings. They have large porches outside of each cabin with ample seating and all have their own en-suite shower and bathroom facilities. Alongside our main cabins we also have a number of smaller, more intimate accommodation options perfect for couples or individuals. These options all have their own air conditioning and en-suite showers and bathrooms. The majority of our accommodation is grouped closely together meaning that we can house you and your guests within easy reach of one another. Alternatively we can work with you to spread your guests out should have any reason to need to them further apart.

Open Spaces

Nestled in 60 acres of woodland paths and trails are the 40 acres of lawns and playing fields that Schodack calls home. Set in upstate New York, in the Capital Region is our beautiful property that looks stunning at any time of the year. Mixed in with the huge range of activities that we have located on site is a number of large indoor and outdoor spaces suitable for groups of all sizes. We have a sun-drenched Gazebo perfect for small group gatherings, a large, open plan playhouse suitable for up to 500 people that comes complete with stage, lighting and sound and its own private music room. We also have a large outdoor amphitheater with plenty of seating and a number of fire pits scattered across the property that are perfect for whiling away the evenings roasting marshmallows under the stars. 

Relaxing Activities 

The thing we hear most from our guests time after time is how nice it is to arrive, leave your car keys in your cabin and have everything available on your doorstep. Make use of our golf driving range, heated swimming pools, tennis courts, bike trails, hikes and much more all conveniently located just a short walk from your accommodation. We understand that getting away for the day, the weekend or perhaps even an entire week often takes a lot of planning. Here at the Berkshire Retreat Center we hope to take the sting out of as much of that as we can by giving our guests the option to create their own package with us. Whether you want to turn up, switch off and let us take care of everything or if you feel like being more hands on and arranging your own catering, entertainment and more, then we will work with you to help you do it your way.
